After taking the Pittsburgh job, I got a call from the guy who hired me asking what the status was. I was a little nervous he didn’t know I took the position or what my start date was. When I told him, he said he would be out of town, but would meet me the following week…that week was today.

I also heard that it take 5 days to get a laptop, so I was shooting for today being the day I get mine. However, today was pretty uneventful. First, I never go the laptop. I am still bring in my personal laptop to get me through the day without dying of boredom, but I really wanted my official one.

Second, the meeting never happened. I have a feeling he actually isn’t back in town yet. Pretty sure the guy manages most of us, and since he never came over to talk to any of us and no one mentioned him, that’s what makes me think he isn’t here.

I still don’t have a security badge, either. That means I come in at 10:00am, call a few people, and see who can come out to the lobby to get me. Other people started around the same time I did, and they all received their laptop first and then their badge.

The badge thing is really annoying, so I was really hoping to get the laptop mainly to get one step closer to getting a badge. When I do have the meeting, I was going to ask about the status of my badge, and since nothing happened, today was pretty disappointing. Plus, I made no money, which didn’t help things.
