Day 20: eBay Refunds

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but the time has come for eBay complaints. I have had 3 items damaged. 1 was completely broken, but was less than $8, so it didn’t really break the band to issue the refund. The others were partially damaged. The plan for those is to offer a partial refund and let the buyers keep the items.

So far, I have had luck with offering a partial refund allowing them to keep the item. That avoids them having to send the item back, and the partial refund usually lets me break even. The nice thing about it is the entire amount isn’t refunded by me, but some of the fees are also thrown in.

Client work issues still aren’t fixed and it seems like people are starting to stop caring. It’s getting to the point where I feel like I am just wasting time on this. This will turn out to be profitable, if it happens, but there isn’t a strong indication that it will happen at all. I am thinking the safer approach is to go back to working on the WordPress plugin and get that launched. That only relies on me, so there’s not possibility of it being pulled out from under me.

eBay sales are dropping and I will soon hit 0 sale days. All the popular items are sold out, and now it’s just the items that I can’t move as quickly. I still have a lot of listings posted, though. I am considering taking some of the eBay money and using it to run ads for the ecommerce sites. That way, I keep sales coming in. This is a bit scary, though, since it’s possible I run ads, spend money, and get no sales. I haven’t made any decisions yet.
