I am giving up on this stupid modem. It looks like it wasn’t even shipped, but instead is still processing. I don’t really want to wait forever to get it, and Amazon has a modem for about the same price.
Amazon also offers next day shipping. It makes the modem about $20 more with shipping, but I would be guaranteed to have the modem tomorrow, and should be online after I plug it in.
I figured the extra $20 was worth it so I don’t fall behind on the client work. I already got one email asking why I haven’t been on the instant messager as much as I normally am.
I emailed the company I bought the first modem from asking for a status on the shipping yesterday and never heard anything. Today I called to cancel my order, and they didn’t answer. I ended up emailing them again, but was a bit nervous I would get two modems.
I finally got the email back saying my order was canceled, and there was still enough time to order the one from Amazon to get it delivered by tomorrow.
That should solve a big problem, but I really hope that UPS either leaves the box at my door, takes it to the leasing office, or comes early/late enough that I am home to get it. Worst case, they come, I am not home to answer the door, and they leave with it saying they will try again on Monday.
