Today wasn’t much better than yesterday. I still didn’t receive my laptop, and the meeting didn’t happen. I had my doubts that he would be back in town yesterday, but I though for sure he would be in today. That was not the case.

Since I didn’t receive my laptop, I am still using my personal one. I have been trying to get more work from the newer client since I have plenty of time to do it, but the one task at a time strategy really isn’t working out.

When I get one task and spend several hours working on it, I either finish it or run into an issue that requires me to ask a question. I then have nothing else to do until I hear back. That could be later that day or Saturday…he likes to reply on Saturdays.

It’s becoming a real inconvenience to do the work since I know I will get stuck and then have to wait. That makes the checks under four figures and basically not work doing compared to the other client.

The tasks are not written in enough detail for me to just start picking some up. I definitely need them assigned so they can be rewritten with enough details for me to actually do it, but the work it takes to rewrite and explain them is just as much work as it is to do them.

It is, however, horrible timing. Now I have plenty of time to do the work, but no work to do. Even if I look for a new client, I won’t be able to find one quickly enough to do the work now before I get my laptop and have to do real work for my job.
