I am getting more eBay sales from the revised listings. Slight issue, I cut the price of the slowest moving item I have to be under the cheapest listing, and I ended up losing 32 cents on the sale. That does not include the cost of the enveloped I mailed it in.
I am thinking about moving the price up 33 or 34 cents to get it to the point where I just break even. I don’t like holding onto items which don’t sell, but don’t want to take a loss to move them. I did get a sale from my own ecommerce site, along with other eBay sales, so I am not negative for the day.
The client work is still being piled on. We are back to everything being an emergency, and any work completed turns in to an invitation for more work. The thing I don’t really like is the work is all estimated the same, about 2 hours. In an 8 hour day, 4 tasks should be completed. However, some tasks are far more complicated than others.
Defects like the “site doesn’t work correctly” are really “parts of the site were never developed to begin with” which is more time consuming than tasks of changing images and fixing typos on the page. At this point, I can’t get caught up. Every day more tasks get added despite the previous ones still being there. They just get rolled over, too.
This wouldn’t be too terrible if I planned on doing nothing else. It’s a solid stream of income, not entirely stable, though. The big issue will be the work can end at any time which would bring my income down to almost zero. I need something else going that’s not dependent on anyone else keeping me employed.
