Two days after my first sale, I got another one! Still, the ads are expensive, but I am hoping to fine tune them now that sales are coming in. Overall, I still spent more than I made.
The ads are generating a lot of shares and likes, however. I am letting the ads run mainly because of that. I am hoping I can then start using the Facebook page more and have high enough engagement where I don’t need to pay for ads any longer.
Not entirely sure if this is even possible, but I feel like it’s something that the only way I will know for sure is to actually do it. I could very easily be wasting money at this point.
Part of the issue is the items I am selling are too common for people to buy. I am thinking having a long-term content plan would be what I need to constantly communicate with people until they are in the mood to finally buy.
These aren’t impulse items. The content part isn’t too easy, though. Similar to this blog, I have to just keep trying, and then after several months, see if it was worth doing. I could post new content and spend time updating the Facebook page just to find out that no one actually cares.
That’s really the worst part about this. I don’t know at the time I start if what I am doing is even worth doing, or if it’s just a waste of time. I do know that even if it was worth doing, it wouldn’t be immediately known, so there has to be some faith to keep trying.
Doing that, writing content, and seeing no result is really discouraging, however.
