The nice thing about today was I found a few things regarding the issues I was looking into. I was hoping I could complete something and make the status call just a little bit happier. That didn’t happen, as the what I found had no affect, and the issues still occurred.
I did sleep in a little, though, since I figured noon was the going starting hour again. The status call was scheduled shorter and earlier today, but ended up taking 2 and a half times the scheduled time. It also had some screaming.
The work I am getting now as work I previously did, so it something I should be able to fix easily, unlike the previous issues. Everyone is getting screamed at for everything, so it seems like it’s nothing personal. It makes it sting a little less, but still not the most fun environment to be in.
I found some time to look into a subscription-based service I am planning. I have a really small prototype working, and began trying to make it in something that was still small, but usable. That didn’t go too great. My initial try was focused on one thing, and the plan for today was to expand that, offering more choices, and basically making it configurable.
The issue I ran into was that there are 3 parts to it. When you change the first part, the second part doesn’t just need changed, it needs thrown away and an entirely different part needs added. The result was a fairly complex system since the first part now had 12 possible choices. I then needed 12 options for the second, and again for the third.
I probably shouldn’t deviate away from the plugin, but after that, I am thinking about focusing on 1 part, getting that going, getting beta testers and users, and working on the other parts once the whole idea is validated. More than likely, there will only be 1 or 2 parts that are even used. Wasting time on the other 10 would just be pointless.
