The party wasn’t all that great. What happened was exactly what I was afraid of, most of the people there were friends of my uncle. I didn’t know any of them. Coming back home wasn’t any better than going there.
Our plan was to leave fairly early, around 7:00am to get back on the road for a possible 8:00am status call I had to do. The call was never scheduled, so I didn’t have to do it, but I wanted to stick to the plan and get home.
Around 9:00am, we still haven’t left, so I took out my laptop and started doing work. I made some code changes and tried to deploy to the server. That didn’t go too well, and the server went down.
Now, I have brought the site down completely, no one else would be able to use it, and my brother is finally ready to leave, meaning I would be in the car again for 2 hours with very little that could be done to get the site back up.
He got to wait while I attempted to bring it back up. Took 20 minutes to get it to a point where we could make a run for it, and if anything came up, waiting the 2 hours for me to get home would be fine.
I got home around noon and was already falling asleep. I woke up early to try to leave at 7:00am. I still had work to do to make up for yesterday plus a full day for today.
While that was killing me, I got 0 eBay sales and managed to do nothing else. I did kind of give up, though, knowing tomorrow was President’s Day.
