I was doing some client work yesterday, and got a call from another developer. He wanted to know if I had time for another call today about the work load and invoicing.
The call was about the amount of work we are excepted to do, but not bill for. Like the server issue yesterday, that was not billable time spent. The developers aren’t too happy about how much time they spend doing work just to not be able to bill about it.
We decided that we would start slowing down until we finally stop doing the non-billable work completely. There are 4 of us, and 1 developer has decided to leave. I don’t know if that decision is final or not, but the non-billable work was the main reason for not wanting to stay.
That would become a big issue since a team of 3 really isn’t enough to complete the work that is remaining. I am really hoping the decision isn’t final and we stay with a team of 4.
Today was also a day with no eBay sales. This happened a few times, but I am thinking this is going to be more common, though. Really, the client work is the only thing making a difference. I would really like for multiple streaming of income that are more consistent and even.
