Day 90: Told the Team

Today wasn’t too exciting in terms of making any money. I did, however, tell my team that I would be leaving at the end of next week. For the most part, people already knew. Some other people who never stop by came over for the morning stand up. I am pretty confident they just came over to talk to me after hearing I was leaving.

Only a couple people acted surprised when I told them. The big benefit, though, is that I will stop getting large chunks of work given to me, and it will be more about wrapping up everything I already started.

I am hoping that the last days here will be fairly easy and be more about knowledge transfer and saying bye to everyone. With everyone knowing and my days officially numbered, I really need to focus on getting to Pittsburgh. Usually when I move, things go horrible.

I am in a rush to move at the last second, packing becomes scooping up everything I can find and throwing it in a box, and eBay sales go unshipped until complaints start flooding in.

Knowing that I will be moving, I should start working on getting ahead of all of this so it’s not as big of an issue as it usually is. I am thinking about ending all my eBay auctions to avoid any sales while I move. It is a 3 hour drive, though, and I am moving myself, so I won’t be flying anywhere, staying in a hotel, or having to wait for a moving company to bring my stuff to me.
