Day 142: Another New Ad Type

Looks like the plan is working, which gives me an idea for another plan. This will involve another new ad type to see how it performs. The best part is, I can have all 3 ads run and compare them. The new ad type is a combination of the existing two.

The original ad, still not approved by the way, was directly to the offer. The new ad was an ad that was run to a Facebook post. That linked to content which then linked to the offer.

This new ad will be also be to a post instead of the site directly, but this time, the post will be for the offer. It is essentially the previous ad, but cutting out the content part of it. The ad will go to the post, which links to the offer directly.

The goal is to get cheaper ads than ads that are clicks to websites, but still get more people to see the offer. This ad wouldn’t require users to go through the content to get to the offer. As an added bonus, I am hoping this ad gets approved quicker than the original ad.

The ad from yesterday to the post was already approved while the original is still pending. I do have a feeling that all the ads running will really be expensive. Full disclosure, I am not too great at advertising and running Facebook ads.

Part of the reason to do this is for practice, which means I will be losing some money on ads early on. I should eventually get better to the point where I could start off campaigns with a far greater success rate than I was previously doing. That won’t happen until I blow through some money, though.

The only thing I am slightly concerned about is stopping. After I run enough ads to get an feel for how successful ads are created, I need to keep running ads. I don’t want to get into a situation where I spend all the money trying to figure out what works, and then I just stop doing it.

I do have a history of basically quitting after a period of time, even when things are going well. Most of the time, things going well didn’t come from me spending tons of money. Once I do get the hang of it, this should be useful for every site I have.

That should make things easier for the existing sites as well as creating new ones. It should also eventually make it possible to run ads for freelance work directly. Having the ability to get new clients with some ads is definitely exciting. When one client runs out of work, I run ads to get another.
