Day 28: eBay Sale are Picking Up Steam

I had one eBay listing with a quantity of about 20 that just wasn’t selling. After revising the price, I am selling at least one a day since. Today, I got eBay sales back up to the point it’s worth doing.

Client work is still killing me, however. With everything being an emergency, I am expected to be available at all times. With the majority of the team on the west coast, issues coming up around midnight isn’t uncommon.

This was another late night of working through issues. After talking to other members on the team, it sounds like there is a good possibility that we don’t have mandatory work this weekend, which would mean I could look at a few tasks I have assigned to me already, and start working ahead.

The other option is to just spend the weekend on anything else, since I have been neglecting the WordPress plugin and really everything other than client work. The sales page for the plugin is definitely something on the to-do list this weekend, though, maybe even the WordPress update server setup to get that out of the way, too.

I am still considering running ads soon to get beta testers and to help validate features before I spend too much time on it, but lately, I haven’t had time to even think about it. I also realized I have domains expiring soon, and will need to either make the call to renew them or let them go. More than likely, I am going to let a lot go.

Selling sites has always been an idea I wished to pursue, but things haven’t taken off quite as I had hoped. The renewal fees every year to keep a domain for a site I never got around to completing seems to be a waste of money. Also, my last attempt to sell off a few domains had the newly registered domain (about 2 days old) out sell the aged domain (over 7 years old).

Renewing the ones I never did anything with just because they are aged, and I don’t want to lose them, doesn’t seem to make any sense at this point. Plus, I am in a similar situation with the domain as I am with client work, I am too far behind to ever get caught up. If I can’t sell off a bunch soon, just letting them go and saving money on the renewal fees will likely be the best option.
