Day 64: More eBay Sales, Low Supplies

eBay sales are still going strong, however, I am out of a lot of shipping supplies. I use 3 different sizes of envelopes with the smallest size fitting most things. The medium size works best when 2 or more items were sold to the same person. The large size is really large.

I also realized that the medium size was the overall cheapest of all 3 sizes, so I began mainly getting those. Now, I am out of the small and medium envelopes and only have the large.

Since the large is way too large, the items can move around in them enough to actually cause damage. Depending on the item, I either fold the envelope over and tape it or just cut the envelope down, if the extra weight of the envelope affects the shipping cost.

It’s not much, but the speed at which I could pack an item has greatly declined. I used to be able to grab the item, throw it in the envelope, seal it with the little sticky strip at the top, and then be done.

Now, I have to throw it in the envelop, weigh it, and then either cut the envelope, get out the tape, and tape it up, or fold the envelope down, seal it, and then tape the seal since the bubble wrap liner of the envelope wants to unfold, and causes that sticky seal to come lose.

The time it’s taking me to get everything ready in the morning is making me late. The box of envelopes contains 100, which is greater than the items I have left. The large envelopes I do have should be close to the amount of items I have, so even though I hate using them, I can’t justify another order of shipping supplies.
