Continuing with the client work issues from before. The good news is I was finally able to make connection to the first layer. That was at least enough to get me looking into some tasks, but still not enough for me to actually do what I was hired to do. Things are beginning to get escalated, though.
eBay sales came in at under $3, which isn’t too good. To top it off, I wasn’t able to get much client work done with the issues I have been facing, but I at least managed to get something complete. I am hoping all issues are resolved by next week so I am not limited.
When that happens, eBay sales won’t be the only source of revenue coming in. However, even these two streams of income still isn’t ideal. One requires my time and the other still requires trips to the post office, so it isn’t completely passive income.
I haven’t ruled out subscription-based services yet, but just based on the amount of time it takes to get a WordPress plugin out the door even after it was launch-ready by the time I got it makes it seem like subscription services aren’t the answer, at least not yet.
Way more work and planning would be needed to not only get the site up, but to also get the content or functionality there to make it worth signing up for in the first place. It’s still a bit of a long term goal, but I am getting some ideas together and talking to people. I have one idea that seems like it could have potential. The only thing I am not a fan about, though, is that it caters to a specific group of people.
That would make things easier, however, the group it caters to doesn’t seem to be a group that easily marketable to. I haven’t found a real good source of traffic that attracts the people I would need. I am not convinced that the idea is worth pursing yet, and would like to iron out a marketing plan first.
